Join us for an evening of sharing oral histories, family memories and independent research concerning His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I and the Ethiopian Royal family. Hear ' The Emperor in Bath'; the first known edition of an oral history project about Emperor Haile Selassie, recorded in the 1980s.

The Lantern Lectures are part of a new event series to commemorate 90th anniversary of the Ethiopian Royal Family’s arrival to the City of Bath in August 1936, followed by their move to Fairfield House in October 1936, which became their home and remains a place of deep historical and cultural significance.

The UnMuseum's approach centres oral testimony and community memory as forms of historical evidence, ensuring that lived experience, alongside formal archives, contributes to how these histories are remembered, understood, and passed on to future generations
